Remembrance Day Service and Wreath Purchase Lunenburg
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, businesses and organizations are asked to make cash donations to the Branch #23 Poppy Fund. Family members of deceased veterans are asked to make cash donations in memory of their loved one. If families wish to purchase wreaths, they are still available but must be picked up at the Lunenburg Legion between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday –Thursday or Saturday between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.. All wreaths will need to be taken by the purchaser and placed at the Cenotaph or at a grave site by the purchaser prior to the Remembrance Day Service. Any individual not from the area purchasing a wreath will have it placed at the Cenotaph by the Legion prior to the Remembrance Service. Names will be read at the Remembrance Service as usual; however, personal wreaths will not be placed
during that service and there will be no parade.
Citizens of Lunenburg are asked to remember individually and watch the televised scaled back Remembrance Day Service from Ottawa. Veterans, family members of veterans and Legion members wishing to attend the Cenotaph in person, must practice social distancing by family bubbles and practice mask wearing should distancing not be possible. The Nova Scotia COVID-19 restriction for outside events is 250 with social distancing. between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday or on Saturday during the same hours.
Remembering the fallen is our duty and we will remember them.

Please note the cancellation of all Legion activities effect immediately. This is a directive from command on the passing of the Queen, this will remain in effect until the day of the Funeral.
