Moving the Berlin Wall to the new location at the Lunenburg Legion
James J Kinley brought a segment of the Berlin Wall to Lunenburg in the late nineties and put on display at the entrance to Lunenburg Foundry.
The Kinley family owns and operates the foundry.
He wanted to honour the German heritage of the Lunenburg area.
Yesterday, with the help of Demone Monuments, it was moved from the foundry to the front of the Lunenburg Legion where it can be viewed by residents and tourists.
Thank you Demones for providing labour and equipment for a smooth transfer to the Legion.
Please note the cancellation of all Legion activities effect immediately. This is a directive from command on the passing of the Queen, this will remain in effect until the day of the Funeral.
Friday night closing is at 6 pm. If four members or more are present the legion remains open. Typical closing Friday nights between 9 pm and 11 pm pending the number of members and guest present.
If you are a Veteran or serving member of the RCMP or Canadian Armed Forces, even if you only served for a year, and you miss the comradeship and support and live in the Lunenburg area check out the Veterans Lunenburg
group on Facebook.
